10:00 AM - 12:00 PM	Oakes Quarry Park Walk- Earth Science Summer Series with Ohio Geological Survey- Department of Natural Resources - 10:00 AM Oakes Quarry Park Walk- Earth Science Summer Series Join Ohio Department of Natural Resources geologists Mark Peter, Andy Nash, and Chris Waid for a hike to "Unearth a Story" in Oakes Quarry Park. Hikers will learn about Ohio's geologic history with a close look at an ancient fossil coral reef and evidence of Ice Age glaciers that passed over the area. There will also be an opportunity to collect fossils. Participants should meet at the trailhead near the parking lot for a mild to moderate hike. Hikers are encouraged to have plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen, and bug spray. Sturdy hiking boots and walking sticks are recommended. This event is free and recommended for ages 5 and up. Two walks will be happening on June 10th. The first is from 10:00AM-12:00 PM and the second is from 1:30 PM-3:30PM.

10:00 AM - 12:00 PM	Trail Talk and Bird Walk - Trail Talk & Bird Walk Join us for Trail Talk & Bird Walk on Saturday, June 13th at 10:00 AM at Oakes Quarry Park for a relaxing and engaging guided hike through one of Fairborn's most unique natural spaces. We are thrilled to welcome the knowledgeable naturalist team from Bellbrook Sugarcreek Park District, who are generously partnering with us to lead this special experience. As you explore the trails, you will learn about the diverse ecosystems of the quarry while also discovering the birds that call this area home. This hike is perfect for both beginners and seasoned nature lovers. Bring your curiousity, your walking shoes, and your love for the outdoors as we listen, observe, and learn together. We are incredibly excited for this partnership and look forward to sharing this meaningful experience with our community.
